About a month ago I was having a call with my brother who is a healthcare worker in Wales. It was before we went into lockdown. He was telling me how all the hand sanitiser had been stolen off the wards. I was taken aback by this and found it hard to believe that this could happen in a situation where our frontline staff are in most need of protection and care to look after those that are ill.
I got off the phone and shared this with our small team and we decided to try and do something to help. We have seen an amazing sense of community emerge from this crisis and a real desire in people to help and contribute where they can and we were no different.
Our manufacturing facility was sitting empty so we started exploring the idea of seeing if it would be possible to temporarily switch our production and manufacture hand sanitiser with the goal of donating a large amount of sanitiser to our healthcare workers.
This is how the ‘GIVE A HAND’ donation project was born and is our little drop in the ocean to give back at a time of need.
Our Lavender & Tea Tree Hand Sanitiser liquid effectively washes your hands without water. It's formulated with 70% isopropyl alcohol to effectively disinfect and sanitise hands according to WHO guidelines.
It also contains skin-friendly natural ingredients including plant-based glycerine to protect and soften and a blend of natural essential oils to leave hands clean, fresh and protected.
It is fully approved and certified by the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine.
For every bottle of hand sanitiser we sell, we will donate an additional 50% to healthcare providers. So to make it simple, if you buy a 50ml bottle we will donate 25ml, if you buy 500ml we will donate 250ml.
We have reached out to the HSE's sourcing and procurement team to ensure we meet their requirements for donating our hand sanitiser. We want to ensure that the donation gets to where it is needed most at the moment, so we will be taking their recommendation on how best to distribute.
We will update this page regularly to share how we have donated the hand sanitiser and how the project is going.
Thank you for your support and may you and your loved ones stay safe and well.
