We believe that if we look after ourselves and feel balanced and grounded, we then have more energy for the important things in life - family, friends and ourselves! So this week when it started to feel like life had suddenly started to speed up again we have been consciously scheduling and prioritising time for self-nurturing throughout our day
Here are 6 of our favourite wellness rituals that take less than 15 minutes. (Yes, even you can find 15 minutes in your day!)
There’s nothing like a peaceful stroll, especially when you’ve been cooped up in the office or working from home nonstop. Going for a walk helps clear your mind and the repetitive rhythm of walking is also known as ‘muscular meditation’ which helps to reduce stress. Add in some deep breaths to super-power your walk and notice nature around you as you stroll to ground and connect.
A session of meditation can be done whenever you have a quiet moment to yourself. Countless studies have concluded that meditation can help with depression, stress and anxiety. It’s a proven method of self-care to redirect your focus and calm your emotions.
Who doesn’t love a cup of tea? A warm, soothing, relaxing hug in a mug. Sitting down with your favourite herbal tea can be a time of reflection and relaxation. We try to make this into a real ritual by brewing our tea from loose herbs and serving in a lovely china cup that brings us joy. There’s something mood-lifting and satisfying about breathing in the fragrant aroma of tea.
Skincare is self-care and is one of the favourite times of our day! Taking a few moments for a skincare ritual gives you a quiet, peaceful moment to nurture your skin and nourish your soul. Create a calming atmosphere by lighting a candle or burning some Palo Santo Incense to restore energy and lift your mood. and an experience for yourself. Wash away the stress of the day with our Superfood Cleansing Balm. It’s also a hydrating mask, so you can leave it on for 20 minutes before massaging into the skin and then rinsing off. You can then finish up with our Nourishing Radiance Serum. When you add a few drops into the palms of your hands, take some time to inhale the aromas and clear your mind. Gently work the serum into your skin and relieve the tensions of the day from your face.
Set the mood for your day as soon as you wake up. Thinking or journaling about things that you’re grateful for can really lift your spirits and improve your mood. You can also do this throughout your day or whenever you’re feeling discouraged or overwhelmed. Research shows that those who practice gratitude have an increased sense of well-being.
When we don’t spend time investing in our well-being, tension can begin to form throughout the body due to stress and inactivity. When you have a spare 15 minutes in the morning or evening, try spending some time breathing. Take deep breaths in and out and take control of your body’s rhythm. Stretching is also a great way to remove knots and tension from your body and relax your mind. Of course there’s also exercise. Physical activity releases feel-good and mood regulating hormones that reduce stress such as endorphins, dopamine and serotonin. Watch our video here on how to relieve neck and shoulder tension.
